Beaujolais Day in England, Scotland & Ireland

With the famous Beaujolais Run car rally setting off from England each year for the last fifty years, you would be forgiven for assuming the English have widely embraced Beaujolais Day.  However whilst the occasion has enjoyed periods of popularity, the widespread party atmosphere as seen in Wales (particularly Swansea and Cardiff) isn’t [as yet] replicated in English towns and cities.

A similar story can be told of Beaujolais Day in Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland.  Here, as with England, there are some festivities associated with this most special of days although they tend to be organised by France-focused businesses such as French restaurants, wine merchants and wine bars.  A special mention must go to Le Beaujolais, a cosy French restaurant in the Covent Garden area of Central London.  And yes, of course they’ll be serving Beaujolais Nouveau all day – alongside their extensive wine list.

Here’s a list of some of the key Beaujolais Day events and parties in England, Scotland and Ireland.
